IPOB Declares 16th February, the Date for Biafra Referendum

Written by Ikenna Ozulumba Mbaegbu

For IPOB Writers

16th of February has been mapped out for Biafra Referendum by IPOB leadership.

This statement was officially declared by IPOB leadership on 28th of February, 2019.

Recall that it is on this same date that the Nigeria Presidential election is scheduled to take place.

Regarding this, many questions have been raised by some people out there as to how possible it will be for IPOB to successfully conduct her referendum while the Nigeria Presidential election is ongoing.

To understand the reason for IPOB unorthodox act over this, one should first look at the major cause why IPOB is calling for an Election Boycott in Biafra Land - It is for the FG to grant her a date for a referendum.

Also recall that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra in his last Broadcast on 19th of January, 2019 categorically explained the purpose for the election Boycott to the general public on Radio Biafra London.

According to Mazi Kanu, "Biafrans must Boycott all Nigeria elections till FG grants IPOB a date for a referendum..."

"The election Boycott in Biafra land will make the world to know how serious we are in our struggle for Biafra Independence," Mazi Kanu said.

Meanwhile, Korie Ezechime, a Biafran had posed this very question earlier today on my Facebook wall, in response to my post on the Referendum date.

"Hmmm! How and where are we going to vote in that referendum?"

And my response to him was:

@Korie Ezechime watch, learn and wait for further instructions as regards the issue of Biafra Referendum, my brother. Make sure you are a good student of Radio Biafra London and constantly listen to our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, then and only then shall you get all the answers you are looking for.

In the same regard, Ibeh Emeka Egbogu, another Biafran also wrote on my post.

"I think, the call for Election Boycott in Biafra land is another method of giving Muhammadu Buhari (Jubril) votes. So, if you ask me, that idea is completely irrational."

My response to him also was:

@Ibeh Emeka Egbogu, that is just your own opinion but it is not the fact. I think the proper question you should be asking here is, "why is IPOB calling for Election Boycott?" Perhaps I would have been in a better position to explain to you about the need for the election Boycott.

Besides, IPOB is demanding for the absolute freedom of her own people and not interested in the Nigeria Janjaweed politics, okay!

Same thing also applicable to those of you out there who harbour such thoughts like our brothers above. Please, always listen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's Broadcasts on Radio Biafra London so as to get cleared of any confusion you may have been going through.

Always remember this, IPOB leadership knows the necessary steps to take in the struggle for Biafra freedom, and should be bestowed maximum confidence in, with eagerness to flow in their well-thought direction per time than reluctance and doubts that birth multiple questions. So, if you are a Biafran, and you are asked to do something by IPOB leadership, please go right ahead and do it. Biafra Restoration is something sacrosanct and the coming of Biafra is the end to our people's sufferings. When Biafra is restored, the black race generally will be free from the White's supremacy. Stop voting "Criminals into power, they will end up looting and pillaging our national treasury. Support Biafra Referendum and boycott the Nigeria elections so that the world may know how serious we are in our struggle for Biafra Independence.

2019: Orlu province Stands With Nnamdi Kanu On Elections Boycott.

The Indigenous People of Biafra from the 12 LGAs in Orlu Senatorial Zone of Imo State have declared their support for the boycott of elections in Biafra land as directed by the IPOB worldwide led by Nnamdi Kanu.

They made this declaration in Amaike in Orlu today, being the 20th of January, 2019, during a rally.

They rallied to communicate to the world that there would not be election and voting in their province come 16th February, 2019, as directed by IPOB leadership led by Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

They also said that the 12 LGAs are solidly behind their Provincial leader Mazi Chidi Nwachukwu.

"In Orlu province, there is no division nor disloyalty, whatsoever.

"We are formidable, resolute and determined. This is Orlu, the heart of Biafra, no referendum, no election", said Mazi Chidi Nwachukwu.

Meanwhile, the rally was also aimed at educating all Biafrans within their jurisdiction on the need to boycott the fraudulent Nigerian election.

The National land coordinator, Mazi Ikechukwu Nwachukwu was unavoidably absent when state and provincial meetings were respectively held prior to the main rally, during which a talented IPOBian, Captain Anozie from Orlu province presented his new Biafra music album. He sang and the people danced in expression of joy for the talents found in Biafran youths.

Mazi chidi urged the people to encourage him and expect more of Biafra evangelical music  album from Orlu talented IPOBians.

He announced the anticipation of Orlu provincial Newspaper and enjoined members to contribute towards its actualization.

Recall that IPOB world wide, among many international diplomatic moves, directed that Biafrans should boycott the 2019 Nigerian elections.

IPOB press release | January 15, 2019

Our election boycott order is crystal clear, ignore any rumors from distractors - IPOB

Following ongoing speculations and rumors in certain quarters, including discussions on some electronic media platforms and newspaper publications which mischievously chose to misinterpret our leader’s address on Saturday by insinuating that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had made a U-turn by asking IPOB members and Biafrans to participate in Abia and Ebonyi states gubernatorial elections to ensure Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi never return to office come February next month. Therefore, we the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) wish to state categorically to all and sundry that our resolve to stop Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi does not affect IPOB position towards boycotting the upcoming presidential election in February this year. It is crystal clear that various interpretations emanating from certain quarters and individuals about our leader's interactive session via Radio Biafra are blatant false designed to pander to base instincts of those who wish to distract IPOB from achieving our aim next month.

IPOB is a highly sophisticated movement that have demonstrably proven over many years our capacity to handle multiple and even complex directives from the leadership. There is no ambiguity in the instructions our leader gave on Saturday. If anything, it was crystal clear from the broadcast that those responsible for the kidnapping and abduction of our people by the army and DSS in recent days must be held accountable for it. David Umahi and Okezie Ikpeazu must be made to feel the rage of the people and this will best be served by ensuring their defeat at the polls.

Our leader's broadcast and interactive session via Radio Biafra from the holy land of Israel was purely educational and rightly sought to enlighten Biafrans and right thinking individuals and groups who are victims and witnesses of Operation Python Dance, to the  evil being committed against our people by David Umahi and Okezie Ikpeazu. Our resolve to ensure Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi failure during this coming election must be enforced no matter the level of propaganda, abductions, arrests, humiliation, intimidation and killings of innocent citizens of Biafra.

From next month Okezie Ikpeazu, David Umahi and co will realize and understand that IPOB movement is rooted in every clan and community in Biafraland. Those seeking to deflect our attention away from removing Umahi and Ikpeazu are wasting their time because their complicity in bringing Operation Python Dance to our land is an unpardonable atrocity against our land and God in heaven. Anybody in support of Umahi and Okezie Ikpeazu will be seen as a supporter of the killing of IPOB family members which in turn will make that person an enemy of the people.

We shall boycott the forthcoming  presidential elections and every other with the notable exception of Abia and Ebonyi where the incumbents, Okezie Ikpeazu and Dave Umahi are using their positions to facilitate the kidnapping, arrest, torture and execution of our people. This recent misconception by some individuals who intend to have Umahi and Ikpeazu return to office, will never deter us because they don’t exist in the real world. They only inhabit the realm of gossip. The decision by IPOB to shutdown Biafraland on the election day has gone far and cannot be changed or stopped unless our terms are met.

People are at liberty to twist, fabricate and misunderstand IPOB but the people of Biafra understand clearly where we are going. We will continue to deploy all forms of civil disobedience, most notably boycott of every Nigerian election until they give us date for Biafra referendum. Our aim towards achieving this goal and desire cannot be truncated by an orchestrated attempt to misinform the public by enemies of Biafra both within and without. Our decision to shutdown Biafraland on 16th of February is sacrosanct.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

Open Letter to Mr. Charles Ogbu

WRITTEN By
Comr.Felix C Onyemachi

Dear Charles,
I know this letter will not meet you as a surprise package but just to enlighten you on why Biafrans should not partake on any election taking place in Nigeria. I do not mean any harm to your character but l am only here to respond to your published article on Sahara Reporters Media. I am always delighted to read your articles but your recent article on “WHY IGBO YOUTHS MUST NOT BOYCOTT ELECTION IN ALAIGBO” looks like you were forced to write in order to appease your “pay masters”.

I must confess that l was delighted with your first paragraph where you acknowledged that IPOB agitations have helped in bringing the marginalisation of the Igbos to both local and international scrutiny. Unfortunately, l was very much eager and enthusiastic to be convinced why Igbo youths must not boycott election in Alaigbo for which, to the best of my knowledge, you failed woefully.

However, in your subsequent line, you complained about the inability of IPOB members to identify with the opinions of non-IPOB members for which you detaste. In this case, you have contradicted yourself because you are trying to impose your opinion on IPOB to participate and vote in the 2019 Nigerian elections. I must let you know that no man has the monopoly of wisdom.. The decision to boycott any Nigerian election by IPOB members in Biafra land is not an individual opinion. IPOB members have considered both the advantages and disadvantages of boycotting election and have come out with the view that the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.

Since you could not convince me on why Igbo Youths must not Boycott Election in Alaigbo, l will be glad to tutor you on why we must boycott the 2019 election in Biafra  land. The only reason you gave on why you want every Igbo youth to participate in the 2019 election is to vote out Jubril Aminu, who is presently impersonating the late President Muhammadu Buhari, the former President of Nigeria. One of your reasons of voting him out is that Jubril is a tyrant, and he has killed many IPOB members. If that is a genuine reason, it follows that the five eastern governors must also be voted out because they initiated the killings, proscription and the tagging of IPOB members as terrorists.

In your article, you accused IPOB members of not balancing emotion (Passionate Commitment) with reason. Unfortunately, you are being more emotionally attached to Peter Obi and Atiku than Jubril. Although, Jubril is presently the worst enemy to IPOB members but how are you sure that Atiku will not change, the moment he holds on to political power?. What is the difference between Atiku and Buhari?

Atiku and Peter Obi have promised to restructure Nigeria if they win 2019 election. Mr. Charles, have you asked Atiku and Obi how they plan to restructure Nigeria? Is it by a brand new constitution or by amending the existing “rogue” document called Nigerian Constitution? If they say it is brand new, how can they do it without violating the oath they took? If they say it is by amendment, how will they satisfy the conditions stated in section-9 of that “rogue” constitution?

IPOB was officially proscribed and tagged terrorist organisation by the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Being tagged as terrorists, IPOB members are the one enemy to the Nigerian military. Terrorists don’t vote in any election and likewise, you don’t expect IPOB members to participate in a country’s election where they are seen as terrors. IPOB has been playing safe since the Nigerian government tagged it a terrorist organisation. There is an Igbo adage which says “Onye Ndi Iro gbara gburu gburu na eche ndu ya nche), meaning “when you are surrounded by enemies, you need to watch over your life”.

The Nigerian military is looking for any loophole to pin down any IPOB member. So many events have taken place in Nigeria where IPOB members were not involved, but the Nigeria military, out of hatred, accused them of being participators. For instance, police arrested 19 IPOB members on the 14th of September, 2018 in Rivers State and accused them of burning 15 Trucks. Around November 2018, protesting Nnewi traders shut down markets over arrest of 33 members by the police and paraded them as suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Mr. Charles, do you want IPOB members to be killed by the Nigerian military for participating in the Nigerian election?

You also accused IPOB members of not respecting Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and the South east governors. How could one trust a leadership (Ohaneze Ndi Igbo) that always speaks from both sides of its mouth? I can vividly remember them saying “We, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, have already made it clear that we are not interested in the Presidency or Vice Presidency unless you restructure Nigeria”. The moment Peter Obi was appointed by Atiku as the running mate; Ohaneze Ndi Igbo became “Articulated”

It is essential to state categorically that election is not the solution to the problem of the Biafran people. We have been electing people to political offices, but this has only brought untold sufferings and hunger to the people. Elections in Biafra land have only produced servants to the Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy and those who feed on crumbs from their table. It is IPOB's determination to restore Biafra republic where her people will have greater freedom and accommodation.
