2023: Orji Uzor Kalu Betrayed The Igbo Cause - Edwin Clarke

 Published Thursday, 12 May 2023 @ 11:42AM CET

lder statesman and former Federal Information Commissioner, Chief Edwin Clark, has taken a former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, to the cleaners, describing him as a “traitor”.

While accusing him of betraying the Igbo cause, the nonagenarian said that although Kalu was one of the oldest vocal frontline politicians in the South-East, he doubted his sincerity and transparency.

Clark, therefore, called on southeast leaders to “sanction any of their sons or daughters trying to betray them, otherwise, your case will be jeopardized from your home.”

He said it was surprising that Kalu did not only drop his ambition to contest the 2023 presidential election but also declared his support for the presidential ambition of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, from Yobe State in North East “on puerile and misinformed reasons that only South-East and North-East has not produced civilian Head of State in Nigeria.”

Clark bared his mind in a statement titled: “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is the betrayer of his ethnicity.”

He statement read, “Recently, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, publicly announced to Nigerians that he will drop his Presidential ambition if the Presidential seat was not zone to the South East. He even went to the extent of floating an organization known as Njiko Igbo Movement, whose purpose is to help secure the Presidential seat for a Nigerian citizen of Igbo extraction, Because an Igbo has only held the position of a Head of State for 6 months since Nigeria’s Independence.

“The Movement has branches and support groups throughout the Diaspora. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, launched the organization together with former Nigerian Senator, Emmanuel Onwe, a human rights advocate and lawyer, earlier based in the United Kingdom.

“Unexpectedly, the same Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, did not only drop his ambition to contest the Presidential election but also declared his support for the Presidential ambition Distinguished Senator, Ahmad Lawan, from Yobe State in North East on puerile and misinformed reasons that only South-East and North-East have not produced civilian Head of State in Nigeria.

“To quote him from the Sun Newspapers of Tuesday, May 10, 2022, he said; “In the absence of a South Easterner being President of Nigeria in 2023, I have my full support for a North Easterner. This is because it would be the closest to the equity, fairness, and Justice everyone is talking about. It further means that the justice is on its way to the South East”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that Ezenwanne was kidnapped by some gunmen, after a gun battle that led to the death of three police personnel.

The kidnappers had invaded the venue of an interactive session between an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and youths at Isuofia civic centre.

Confirming his release in a statement, on Sunday, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s spokesman, said Ezenwanne was released in safe condition in the early hours of Sunday.

2023: "Buhari is an Ingrate, I spent N35 billion to make him president" - Tinubu explodes

Published on Friday, June 26, 2020 @ 12:06 PM CET by BIAFRA TODAY
Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Muhammad Buhari

Embattled National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a huge swipe at President Mohammadu Buhari, describing him as an ingrate on whom he spent over N35 billion to make him president.

Tinubu’s outburst came a day after Buhari torpedoed his Presidential ambition, endorsing another faction of the APC in the leadership tussle that has engulfed the party, sources close to the former Governor of Lagos State told Pointblanknews.com.

On Wednesday, Buhari endorsed acting national secretary, Victor Gaidom as acting National Chairman of APC.

Barely 24hrs later, he orchestrated the dissolution of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC. Yobe State governor Mai Mala Bunu was appointed to lead the party’s caretaker Chairman.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Bunu, Abubakar Bagudu and Nasir El-Rufai, governors of Yobe, Kebbi and Kaduna States respectively, as well as Transport Minister Chibuike Amaechi belong to the same political camp opposed to Tinubu.

Soon after Thursday’s NEC meeting, gathered Pointblanknews.com, Tinubu got on the telephone with a former national chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, lamenting and cursing everyone perceived to be behind his political travails.

A source who privy to the conversation told Pointblanknews.com that the former Lagos state Governor complained to Akande, reportedly expressing regrets on all he did for the APC.

“Asiwaju lamented that he invested over N35 billion to fund Buhari’s elections in 2015 and 2019 and yet, he is never appreciated,” the source told us

we could not independently verify the figure Tinubu claimed to have spent on Buhari’s two elections.
The source further hinted that the embattled APC leader regretted not backing his former political ally and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar in 2019 over Buhari, and blamed El-Rufai, Amaechi and former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun as the arrowheads of the opposition to his political aspiration.

“Asiwaju told Akande that had he backed Atiku in 2019, he won’t have suffered this kind of political humiliation. He said that were it not for him, the APC would not have won the 2015 and 2019 elections,” disclosed the source.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that Tinubu may have been dealt the biggest political blow of his life yet in retaliation for how he (Tinubu) humiliated the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.

According to the source, Buhari and other top leaders of the APC had begged Tinubu to allow Ambode to complete his tenure. As events later proved, the pleas fell on deaf ears.

The APC leaders were said to have vowed to pay Tinubu in his own coin for not just disobeying the President but also carrying on like the sole owner of the party.

Meanwhile, a cold war is currently brewing between Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to sources close to both political gladiators, Tinubu may have since 1999 skimmed up to $1.5 billion directly and through proxies. Governor Sanwo-Olu is reportedly not pleased with Tinubu’s “overbearing demands and his attempt to control his government.”
Ambode is reportedly happy that Tinubu’s humiliation would give him some respite.

IPOB POSITION ON ELECTION BOYCOTT  STANDS NO NEWS ADULTERATION, DISTORTION, TWISTING OR FABRICATION CAN CHANGE THE DECISION

   Press Release | Published Tuesday, January 22, 2019 | 10:31 CET
A man holds no election placard during a protest

We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our supreme leader and prophet of our time Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will stand on the decision of election boycott in Biafraland on the 16th of February 2019, the boycott of presidential election next month will showcase our readiness, determination and seriousness in the pursuit for Biafra freedom and sovereignty. It is important we notify our people mostly politicians, clergymen and women including pastors who strongly believe in rebuilding one Nigeria to retrace their steps because Nigeria Government and it's leadership has been hijacked by Fulani people. Fulanis are parasites and stranger in Nigeria today but unfortunate that they control over 200 million Indigenous Population because of British support to them.

Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu during his weekly radio Biafra broadcast from the holy land of Israel on Saturday evening reaffirmed strongly to the people and gullible Nigerians who still doubt our stand towards boycotting the forthcoming presidential election next month. It is crystal clear that one of our major lethal weapons to achieve this present Biafra demand is civil disobedience, therefore we urge Biafrans, both home and abroad to advise and caution their families not to vote and totally boycott this coming election no matter the level of promises and inducement politicians of this days might have given them.

In few days to come IPOB high command will release a blueprint and how this election boycott will be achieved and it's benefit to Biafrans, IPOB will evoke high level of civil disobedience next month to make it effective so as Biafrans will realize how much determined we are. Federal Government of Nigeria, South East governors mostly Okezie Ikpeazu, David Umahi and Willie Obiano including Ohaneze Ndigbo led by Nnia Nwodo conspired and brought in operation python dance to frighten our people to trigger panic, apprehension and fear in the minds of Biafrans who believe in Biafra restoration project. IPOB will inevitably bring those governors and few Abuja/Lagos based politicians who believe in serving Hausa Fulani caliphate to account in no distant time.

It is in the light of this recent distortion, twist and adulterated truth and propaganda against IPOB decision by unscrupulous individuals, groups and politicians in our land that prompted our supreme leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to come on air last week Saturday to state unequivocally without mincing words the position of IPOB in Abia and Ebonyi states gubernatorial elections come next month. Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi who unbeknown to most people has donated a portion of our sacred land of Biafra to Miyetti Allah cannot support Operation Python Dance and expect the people not to revolt accordingly. IPOB is at the front of this coming revolution next month.

The potency of our agitation for Biafra will be made clear for all to see. We remain unwavering and determined as ever to bring this divine and ordained mission to its successful conclusion. Our freedom is paramount therefore ongoing politically motivated abductions, high levels of humiliation, intimidation, abduction, arrest, massacre and sponsored propaganda against a peaceful group like IPOB will not shake our resolve, instead it will make us stronger.

IPOB blast Ikpeazu, says he's a coward and criminal in receipt, vows Afaraukwu accomplices will pay dearly

Published Friday. at 14:33 by Uchechi Collins
From Left IPOB's Leader Nnamdi Kanu, Right Okezie Ikpeazu

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) find it beneath contempt that a failed governor and a stooge of the northern cabal in the person of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu will callously seek to endear himself to the traumatised Afaraukwu community by mouthing what amounts to gibberish before a rented crowd of hungry individuals as part of his efforts to get re-elected in 2019. Not only is Okezie Ikpeazu a congenital liar and coward, but he is also criminal in receipt of stolen goods from the palace of Eze Israel Okwu Kanu. IPOB Intelligence Unit is in receipt of incontrovertible photo and video evidence of Ikpeazu receiving items stolen from Eze Kanu’s Palace by the Nigerian military. We are waiting for commencement of election campaigns to release them for maximum impact.

Okezie Ikpeazu, Dave Umahi, Willie Obiano, Nnia Nwodo and others are the prime instigators of Operation Python Dance which they have never denied. They know where the military kept Eze Israel Kanu and Ugoeze Sally Kanu, to pretend otherwise is an exercise in futility. At the appropriate time all those responsible for the military invasion of Afaraukwu and the loss of 28 IPOB family members will be held to account. It is not a question of if but when. Feigning ignorance or knowledge of the invasion of the 14 September 2017 shows what a dubious criminal Okezie Ikpeazu is.

South East Governors Forum in collaboration with Ohaneze Ndigbo and a few others based in Lagos/Abuja, worked hand-in-hand with Fulani caliphate to plot the assassination of Nnamdi Kanu and his parents. This is a fact! Okezie Ikpeazu thinks that a few weasel words and paltry 2 Million Naira shared amongst impoverished hungry people presented to him at the Banquet Hall of Abia State government house, will eradicate the sacrilegious invasion of the home of an Igbo traditional ruler.

Teachers and other civil servants in Abia State are owed upwards of two years salary with no hope in sight of when they are likely to get paid but Okezie Ikpeazu is busy distributing money in the hope of buying the conscience of the people. Such gimmick may have worked in the past but not in this era of IPOB. Okezie Ikpeazu is a one-term governor because he is a traitor to the people of Biafra in general and Abia in particular.

No amount of stomach infrastructure initiative, like this one organised for him by a certain Udochukwu Ogbonna an indigene or Isiama Afaraukwu, who is unsurprisingly an Abia civil servant- hopefully seeking to secure his unpaid salary, will save him. INEC’s world famous rigging antics will not save him either because IPOB High Command has determined that all those that had in a hand in bringing Operation Python Dance to Biafraland will pay a heavy price for their betrayal. Any person, persons or political party investing in Okezie Ikpeazu to be re-elected governor of Abia State is not only mistaken and wasting their resources but naive to the point of stupidity.

Okezie Ikpeazu cannot superintend the mass killings of Biafrans in Abia State and expect to be returned to power. Have we forgotten Amnesty International report on the massacre of civilians at National High School Aba? It was the same Okezie Ikpeazu that oversaw the cold-blooded execution of those asking for their freedom. The household of Okezie Ikpeazu and their generations unborn will be held accountable in life and death for the atrocities Okezie Ikpeazu used Fulani soldiers to commit in our land. It will be a monumental insult and a desecration of the memory of the dear departed for Okezie Ikpeazu to return as Abia State governor in 2019, his hands are soiled with the blood of the innocent. The same fate applies to all those implicated in Operation Python Dance. Current Igbo governors are unrepentant Fulani slaves and their continued stay in power will represent a formidable obstacle on our road to freedom. They cannot return in 2019 no matter what Fulani controlled INEC does.

If Fulani soldiers under the cover of Nigerian Army can invade Biafraland, kill, torture and detain innocent people including our mothers with such impunity, then the title of Chief Security Officer of the State is lost on these quislings occupying government houses in the east. The likes of Okezie Ikpeazu and Dave Umahi exist to please the northern caliphate even it means poisoning all Igbos to death in the process. All they care about is exalted political office and unfettered access to money allocated to their state. Their time has come to an end. 14 September 2017 was the day Okezie Ikpeazu murdered sleep. Those offering what amounts to mere sycophantic value to his campaign for re-election are doing so at their own risk. IPOB and Kanu family cannot be bought with money or material, Biafra freedom is the ultimate.

Osun re-run: Davido, Saraki, Others rejects INEC's result, lament political situation in Nigeria
David Adeleke a.k.a Davido and his uncle Ademola Adeleke PDP Governorship candidate

Senate president Bukola Saraki has reacted to Osun rerun election - INEC on Friday morning, September 28, declared the candidate of APC, Gboyega Oyetola, as the winner of the election - Saraki, however, described the rerun as a sham and biggest electoral fraud in Nigeria The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has described Thursday, September 27, rerun election held in Osun state as a total sham and the biggest electoral fraud in the history of the country. Channels TV reports that Saraki, who is also a presidential aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated this while addressing journalists during his campaign tour in Kaduna state.

FXChoice Information gathered proves that the Senate president consequently called for the cancellation of the result, especially in view of the complaints made about the supplementary election. Saraki accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of rigging the election, stressing that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, ought to have been declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, September 23.

This, he said, is because Adeleke had polled the highest number of votes based on the vote count on Sunday, September 23. According to him, the alleged brazen rigging that characterized the rerun election shows that the ruling APC is desperately working to resist any form of opposition ahead of the 2019 election.

Meanwhile, other notable Nigerians took to social media to express dissatisfaction in regards to unfair electoral process in Osun state, calling the actions of the APC party members as alarming and destructive.
Femi Fani Kayode released a press statement accusing the APC and Buhari's administration of sending the country down the drain with this new development.

Also, Superstar musician Davido yesterday retweeted a tweet by DailyTrust lamenting the Osun State rerun, no doubt Davido has been a strong supporter of political figures in Nigeria, he actively supported his uncle and Osun PDP candidate Ademola Adeleke, he rejected the election result released by INEC and has publicly lamented the ill political state of the country.

IPOB boils over visa denial, accuses Swiss government of aiding human rights violation in Nigeria

By Chimaobi Nwaiwu

NNEWI—THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the Swiss government and it’s Embassy in Abuja of aiding and abating the unlawful disappearance of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB members IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary,   Emma Powerful,   also accused the government of Switzerland of collaborating with the Nigerian government in the continued disappearance of its leader.

“We note with grave sadness, the role the Swiss Embassy in Abuja have played in aiding and abating the unlawful disappearance of our members in Nigeria,  by denying entry Visa to members of Kanu’s family and other first-hand witnesses to the Nigerian Army massacre of unarmed civilians at Nnamdi Kanu’s compound in Isiama Afaraukwu on  September 14th 2017.

“This is a clear case of conspiracy between a member of staff of the Swiss Embassy in Abuja and the Nigerian government to deny United Nations investigators access to vital information and facts surrounding the murderous invasion of Nnamdi Kanu’s compound by the Nigerian military. “Instead of commending the UN for their intervention, the Swiss Embassy chose to act out of character by appearing to support impunity and gross violations of the rights of Kanu’s family to seek justice."

“The conduct of the Swiss Embassy is unbecoming of a civilized country, who by this action, appears to be collaborating with the murderous regime in Nigeria in their persecution of Biafrans. “It should be pointed out to the Swiss Embassy in Abuja that Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother of our leader visited the United States of America recently on a two-year multiple entry visa and returned to Nigeria” IPOB stated that “With all due respect, it is an indisputable fact that most people seeking to overstay their visa permit would rather prefer to do so in the United States of America than Switzerland.

Therefore, the reasons given by the Kogi-born employee at the Swiss Embassy for refusing visas to the Kanu family is laughable.” IPOB statement also read: “We must also remind the Swiss Embassy that IPOB women in the past months attended a conference in Baltimore, Maryland USA and duly returned to their respective countries of abode after the event. “We are therefore at a loss to understand why Swiss Embassy chose this line of action when the lives of human beings are at stake. “We wonder if the Swiss government through its Embassy in Abuja is giving tacit support to abuse of human rights in Nigeria or they are seeking to influence or impede the work of the United Nations.

“The United Nations office  invited Kanu’s family to meet them in Switzerland to ascertain what truly transpired during the massacre of the 14th of September 2017 at Isiama Afaraukwu during Operation Python Dance 2. “This Nigerian army’s  ugly episode and mindless attack resulted to the disappearance of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his aged parents and other family members of IPOB since last year. “It is important we state clearly that our leader’s whereabouts is still unknown since that very unwarranted and unprovoked invasion and attack.

“If the United Nations has chosen to invite surviving members of Kanu family to a meeting in Geneva to ascertain the facts, more so when the Swiss Embassy has a copy of the letter of invitation,   why is it trying to stop or disrupt the meeting through visas refusal? “We see this Swiss Embassy’s reluctance to issue the entry visa to Kanu’s family as politically motivated.

“We, therefore, urge the Swiss government not to allow the travesty to subsist. Otherwise, IPOB will have no option than to regard the Swiss government as an accessory to mass murder and promoter of human rights abuses in Africa.”

Restructuring Nigeria cannot guarantee her unity, neither can it lead to political stability he said

Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana

Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana has said that “restructuring Nigeria can never guarantee unity and political stability.” Falana said that, “The country has always been restructured by the ruling class and that the current structure was imposed by the fiat of military dictators. No doubt, the country is ripe for restructuring or power devolution but it cannot guarantee unity and political stability without the democratisation of powers and equitable redistribution of the commonwealth along egalitarian lines.”

Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana Falana made the statement in a paper delivered today at the 19th Mike Okonkwo Annual Lecture at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos. Falana also said that, “Restructuring without the equitable redistribution of the commonwealth will not promote unity or political stability. Unity is not an abstract phenomenon. In concrete terms, unity means the corporate existence of Nigeria.

The fact that the unity of the country is based on ruthless exploitation of the working people is of no moment as far as members of the ruling class are concerned. Since the rich are united in exploiting our national resources the exploited poor and oppressed people should unite to free themselves from poverty.” The paper read in part: “A leading PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has become one of the leading proponents of restructuring. But his support for restructuring has not addressed the crucial issue of the redistribution of the national wealth.

After all, in his capacity as the nation’s Vice President and chairman of the National Council on Privatisation, Alhaji Abubakar presided over the restructuring of the nation’s economy through the liquidation of public assets and the privatization of the commanding height of the economy.” “The policy led to a situation whereby all major public enterprises and assets including oil blocks were sold to the so called “core investors”. Such official transfer of the commonwealth to a few local and foreign corporate bodies will have to be reversed in the interests of the people.” “The nation cannot be seriously restructured without equitable redistribution of wealth. Therefore, those who have cornered our commonwealth should not be allowed to talk of restructuring in vacuo. In other words, the campaign for restructuring should encompass the decentralization and democratization of political and economic powers which have been privatised by all factions of the ruling class.” “Since the Constitution has clearly stated that the welfare and security of the people shall be the primary purpose of government, Nigerians must demand an end to a policy that allows political office holders and civil servants who constitute less than 1% of the population to continue to allocate 70% of the nation’s resources to themselves.”

“If the Federal Government could withdraw US$12.4 billion from the foreign reserves to pay questionable external debts and subsidize the local bourgeoisie with intervention funds running to trillions of Naira it cannot turn round to complain of lack of fund to fix collapsed social infrastructures, education, health transportation and agriculture and create jobs for our army of unemployed youths.” “The recovery of the stolen wealth of the nation by foreign and local thieves should be a collective battle while the fund recovered from corrupt public officers and their privies is spent on job creation and fixing of hospitals and schools as well as the provision of other social services.”

“Out of despondency and disenchantment with the political system some groups of young men and women have demanded for the balkanization of the country. However, the majority of members of the ruling class have insisted on restructuring as a basis for the corporate existence of the country. Religious groups have recommended prayers as the panacea to the myriad of problems plaguing the nation. On its own part, the Buhari regime has identified corruption as the root cause of the nation’s underdevelopment.”

“While the working class and the masses are left out of the debate the ruling class parties and the retired army officers who wield enormous influence in them have kicked against any form of power devolution. These propositions are being canvassed to cover up the real cause of the underdevelopment of the country.”

“The Minister of Information and the spokesperson for the Buhari administration, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has cautioned Nigerians not to make the mistake of returning to Egypt by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Although the Minister did not say whether the All Progressive Congress (APC) is actually taking the Nigerian people to the Promised Land it is indisputable that we are currently stranded in the desert.”

“Convinced that the programmes and manifestoes of the ruling party and the mainstream opposition political parties cannot take Nigeria to the Promised Land I challenge the Nigerian people to take their destiny in their own hands by organising themselves to demand for the actualisation of the fundamental objectives and directive principles set out in Chapter two of the Constitution.”

“The economy cannot be transformed in favour of Nigeria on the basis of the dangerous prescriptions of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Nigerians should therefore be prepared to challenge the recycled neo-liberal managers of the economy who continue to insist on the dominance of market forces which have been discredited by the crisis of global capitalism.”

“While religious leaders are entitled to prepare the country for heaven they must team up with patriotic forces to organize, empower and mobilize our people through their unions, associations, collectives and religious groups to rebuild the country on the platform of social justice and equity. Otherwise, the unity of Nigeria will remain a mirage.”

“To achieve the objective of empowering our people religious bodies must join the struggle for equitable redistribution of the wealth of the nation. In praying for our country religious bodies must expose the Christian and Muslim public officers whose policies are promoting poverty in the society.” “We must reject the shameful categorisation of Nigeria as a rich country with the largest concentration of poor people in the world. It is high time that poverty was seriously attacked through the empowerment of the masses and job creation for young people. We must reject poverty alleviation or reduction and demand poverty eradication.” “

Even though President Buhari has threatened to jail corrupt elements in the society he has no control over the criminal justice system that is largely controlled by the suspects and their lawyers. As no corrupt-free government can be established in a country where the majority of the citizens wallow in abject poverty, it is high time government reviewed its market-oriented economic programme inspired by imperialist forces.”

“The political class which inherited the structures of colonisation has perfected the manipulation of ethnicity and religion to keep the oppressed people divided and disunited so that they will not challenge the basis of their poverty and ignorance. Since the ideas of the ruling class are the prevailing and dominant ideology many professional and religious groups have equally been divided along ethnic lines. In view of such manipulation the masses have been made to believe that Nigeria cannot be a united country.”

“The PDP which never altered the status quo when it had the opportunity of ruling the country for 16 years is currently demanding restructuring as a basis of moving the nation forward. The leading sociocultural groups have also opted for restructuring to guarantee the development and corporate existence of the country. But the Buhari administration has kicked against restructuring so as to prevent the purported break-up of the country and has therefore insisted on the fight against corruption and judicious management of resources.”
