Dreaming in Cloud Cuckoo Land

Written by Ikenna Ozulumba Mbaegbu

She coughed,
Then laughed,
Gently hugged me
And kissed me,
Was happy
And like wow, so sweet!
She whispered into my ears,
Her eyes filled with tears
Like in love demonstration,
She continued,
I love your facial expression!

Like she's sounding funny.
Tell me about it, honey
Is it that naughty?
I asked with a giggle face,
Like I was up for a disgrace.
She said no, that I was just cute.

Then it hit me,
As I arose to see
That it was only but a dream,
That I had been dreaming
In Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Weary Heart of a Lover

By Ikenna Ozulumba Mbaegbu

Sunk into the dark abyss of loneliness,
Feeling dejected and played,
As heart bled,
As mind in thoughts deeply buried,
And grieving over a future
I still queried
That would never come,
The past, which had left me
In a bitter state,
Truly, truly, life sucks
When time left thee in such a waste!

I still recall when roses
Fell like morning dew
In our smiling moon
Yes, the beginning was magic
Each day means a million day
I called it true feelings,
Of two lovers heart
Still young and revealing,
As bright as sky of the day,
A path I never knew
I am not going to kiss,
Because it was all but a living lie,
Into which I had for long never believed it will be
But convinced by the sensuous lying lips,
That gentle heartless heart,
That never had any remorse
That willfully betrayed my trust,
That which made me, believe her fairy tales,
And her untrue promises,
Her enduring difficulties
For a love that never existed.

As my eyes overflows
With the rivers of tears,
My heart weary for love that will stand a chance
Hopefully, shall I someday
Be delivered from this sad state
And cured of this emotional sickness
Endured from loving a betrayed heart
When finally l meet thee,
That knows the true speech
Of my soul
The timing of my heart beat
Then l will love again.

          The Search for True Love

By Ikenna Ozulumba Mbaegbu

When emotional
Always I to my writing take
Where portray I on paper
My feelings at stake;
Where my thoughts to the world revealed,
Of promises unfulfilled,
The promises in many colors,
Mostly of love,
That I feel should come from above
Through you
Yes, through you!
Yes, you!
And I mean you! 👉

How bad it hurts
Having realized a'las
On this blissful morning,
This lovely Sunday morning,
That the regard of me
You have not,
That what I thought we share
To thee is one big joke,
My heart so broke,
That the dreams after all
May not come to reality.

How bad it hurts,
Having realized
That you aren't there for me,
That you don't even pray for me,
That you are not even proud of me,
That you can't even sing for me,
That you can't even stand by me,
That you can't even dance for me,
Because to thee,
The whole thing,
Is nothing but a one big Joke!

But still shall I never give up
Even to the mountain top,
Even till Biafra comes,
Shall I always climb to seek thee,
This love of many colors
That I believe
come from above,
So hidden to our physical eyes,
But can be felt
When truly found.
This Heavenly love of many colors,
The very free gift of nature,
If found shall I try
And very much nurture,
To avoid from me its departure.
