It's reported that the Nigerian Governors Forum is to send a delegation to London to search for the president of Nigeria, Retd Gen. Muhamadu Buhari who, in an obscure circumstance, was flown to London for an emergency medical attention, although was done under the guise of vacation.

This purported vacation has stirred up controversy especially amongst Nigerians as the news of the death of President Muhamadu Buhari, in a London hospital, filtered in first through "Metro UK" website believed to be in the United Kingdom.

As soon as the news of the death of the Nigerian president filtered in, it was reported that most Nigerians went partying celebrating the deliverance of Nigerians from hell and archaic leadership.

But the presidency dispelled the news as rumour, insisting that the president is hale and hearty.

But some people from where I reside were called from London, and one of them said that he is a staff in the hospital where Buhari laid lifeless.

The presidential media spokesperson, Femi Adesina, has on several occasions tried to convince Nigerians, with pictures of Buhari on vacation, that the president is alive and kicking but Nigerians have refused to be pacified with such weak evidence.

As the death rumours are on the increase, Buhari, instead of substantiating his death rumours, is busy condoling with the bereaved; such as Adamu Fika whom the president condoled through information contained in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu.
In which statement, according to Vanguard, the president expressed his sadness over the death of Hajiya Tasallah Fika, the wife of former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

In a similar scenario, President Muhammadu Buhari had also commiserated with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung on the death of his wife, Mrs Briskila Dalung but Buhari has kept his countrymen in the dark concerning his death rumour. In a statement, according to Vanguard, issued on the 31st January 2017 in Abuja by Nneka Anibeze, the Special Assistant, Media to the minister, Buhari commiserated with Dalung through the telephone from London.

As the death rumours of Mr President continue to spread, the presidency continues its weak substantiation, and this time claims a diplomatic call between Donald Trump, the president of the United States and Rtd Gen Muhamadu Buhari; which claim has been criticized and rejected by many Nigerians with groups like Intersociety describing the claim as 'lies beyond borders and decorum'; because under the existing international rules and conventions on Diplomatic Relations between member-States, President Donald Trump is not expected to call ailing President Buhari who is outside his country's borders receiving treatment.

Apart from the fact that Buhari may not be in his right state of mind to receive diplomatic calls, and therefore should not receive such calls, (assuming he is not dead as rumoured), it would amount to diplomatic blunder if he received call, with his private number outside his borders, from Trump, which blunder the 'Diplomatic Relations Officials' of USA, in my view, are too matured and informed to commit.

Meanwhile, in response to the purported diplomatic call between Trump and Buhari, Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, took to his Twitter handle (@realFFK), trying to imply that Trump couldn't have called Barack Obama's friend, Buhari who is abusing the rights of Nigerians; killing them in cold blood (which crimes are opposed to Trump's ideology). He asked the presidency whether Trump did advise Buhari to stop killing Christians and Shiite Muslim group.

In his words, "If it's true that Donald Trump spoke to Barack Obama's friend, Buhari, it is good news! I hope he told him to stop killing Christians and Shiite Muslims and to stop supporting the Fulani terrorists and herdsmen. Meanwhile, I hope he will soon speak to his own people too".

But the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, instead of substantiating the death rumours against the president or at least speak like former Minister of Information, Prof Dorothy Akunyili who declared, during the time of President Musa Yar'Adua, that she had no information even though she was the Minister of Information (on the assumption that Lai Mohammed is oblivious of Buhari's state of health), dismissed Femi Fani-Kayode's submission( Islamic terrorism against Christians) as fallacy.

Picture Evidence Too Weak To Substantiate Death Rumours

As the death rumours of Muhamadu Buhari climaxes, since the previous strategies of some APC caucus, including the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo's claims of speaking with the president every day, could not clear the death rumours, many delegates from APC have been allegedly sent to London to verify the state of Buhari's health, but what we have

always seen on social media are pictures of Buhari with his purported guests, including his wife, Tinubu and co, Gov. Amosun of Ogun state, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and co.

In the first three visits, president Buhari was seen, with his purported guests, on only one attire and Nigerians criticised Buhari for wearing only one piece of clothes. But in the last visit of Bukola Saraki and co, the president was seen on different clothes, yet the death rumours are still high.

The presidency has refused to know that Nigerians have the right to know the state of their president and console themselves if what happened in Yar'Adua's has repeated in Buhari's time.

And if the ugly event of Yar'Adua's time has not repeated in Buhari's tenure, let the presidency substantiate this assertion by showing Buhari's live video conversation with his guests. Enough of pictures evidence which is seen as photoshopped works!

To prove that the president is alive, his purported phone conservations with some APC leaders can be put in the public domain; because a similar thing that happened in the time of Yar'Adua, where they denied that Yar'Adua was in comatose,  is going on again with Buhari

It is more responsible for dispelling death rumours the way Chief Olusegun Obasanjo did when it was rumoured that he had died; than playing Nigerians this hide and seek game.

From vacation to routine medical checkup; from 'the president is hale and hearty; the president is not in any London hospital but enjoying his vacation'  to "I shall only come back when my doctors have finished running some tests on me as well as discharge me"; from calling some Nigerians to receiving diplomatic calls from the White House; from rumoured death to burial. It is ridiculous indeed!

Seeing that the presidency has refused to be candid with Nigerians and seeing that taxpayers money will be used to foot the bill of this next visit, I posit that the Governors Forum Delegation to be sent to ascertain Buhari's whereabouts and state of health is a waste of resources, time and energy because the presidency has remained adamant with its falsehoods about Buhari state of being which has plunged the country into a total, sorry state.

From this misdeed of concealing the truth from Nigerians, one will be forced to ask, "If the leadership of the Nigerian state can not be honest about the state(health) of the president of Nigeria, how sure are we that they are not misusing what is committed to them?" Because such misinformation and falsehood about the health of the president of the country does not happen anywhere but in Nigeria;

Therefore, it is useless for the Governors Forum Delegation to embark on this journey but if they insist, they should come back with video evidence showing that the president is hale and hearty as claimed. And if he is hale and hearty as claimed, let him come back and face what he forced Nigerians into; and not to abscond from his duty post for four weeks now whereas President Trump sleeps for less than 5hours a day to meet up with the task of governance.
