Biafra: The Desperation Of Nigerian Government And The Bugging Of Kanu's Associates

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

It has been reported that the federal government of Nigeria is desperately looking for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as the date of his adjourned case draws near.

They are now bugging the associates of Kanu, both those that posted their pictures with Kanu on Facebook and those promoting the Biafran struggle online.

It is unfortunate that the Nigerian government under Dictator Muhammadu Buhari is addicted to taking laws into its hands. I have not been able to understand what led Buhari to take such decision of invading/raiding the house of a man whose case is in court.

If the government wanted to rearrest him as it made moves to do so, was it not prudent to wait for him in court and arrest him legally or illegally after the day's court?

I know it is characteristic of dictators to act before thinking but why should the handlers of Buhari not tame his excesses by proffering lawful solution on what he is determined to achieve? Oh, I forgot, dictators don't take such advice. Brute and force are their characteristics. It is unfortunate.

Maybe because of Buhari's affinity with the military and his repeated lawless attitude, the soldiers on the Python Dance on their own volition decided to take laws into their hands, by descending on Nnamdi Kanu who is "terrorizing" their Man, Gen. Buhari. Because once a soldier is always a soldier...you must "esprit de corps". But I doubt whether soldiers could invade Kanu's residence without an order from above.

Maybe they followed similar unilateralism in authority exertion in the recent free vaccination exercise they embarked on without the federal government's nor states governments' authorizations as both state and federal governments claimed they were unaware of such military "operation".

But on the other hand, I wonder why the government is still clueless on the whereabouts of Nnamdi Kanu after some of its recruits like Orji-Uzor Kalu, Arewa Youths and  LAWCONS revealed the trajectory of the IPOB leader. Maybe the revelations were so divergent and empty that the government could not waste its resources on them or it has tried to but found no truth in them. It is unfortunate.

Meanwhile, this search for Nnamdi Kanu, does it not show that the Nigerian government needs to grow? It is hugely surprising that the APC government has out of cluelessness, impulsivity and irascibility have driven Nigeria into a ditch and it is almost impossible to drag her out without disintegrating.

Therefore, let the Nigerian government under Buhari cease from being clueless and grow up; leave Kanu's associates alone, including those that posted their pictures with Kanu online; search for the IPOB leader if he is not in government's custody and produces him in court tomorrow.
