BIAFRA : IPOB makes international recognition as world leaders press Buhari for a referendum

When some unscrupulous elements and their gutter media houses were busy searching for unrealistic flaws of September 23rd, 2016 IPOB rally, Indigenous People of Biafra were busy gaining international attention. Going through Google trends searches yesterday, more than a million users have keyed-in Biafra keywords in just a day which won it Google Trending hot search of the day.

Just the moment these dishonest media platforms were about to fill their white and brown papers with adulterated inks, the international media houses like Deutsche Welle, DW capitalized on IPOB global protests with the caption "Global protests move Biafra conflict back into Spotlight".

Going through Deutsche's news broadcast yesterday, it's obvious that Biafra bell is ringing in every bodies ear in double harmonic motion. "It's been decades since the plight of the Igbo people of Biafra was highlighted during the Nigeria Civil War. The movement to resurrect the Republic of Biafra is gaining momentum." - Sertan Sanderson reports.

Get this message clear; in Nigeria constitution and international politics there's nothing like South-South, they refer to people of the old Eastern region as South East of Nigeria, in other words called Biafra people. Another interesting thing to note is using Igbo as a reference point when referring to Biafra territories. Yes' I think we shouldn't get it twisted even Buhari in his 29th December, 2015. media chat referred to every of his cabinet members from South-South as Igbos but that doesn't mean we don't know Igbo and Ijaw as clans in Biafra land. Governor of CBN Godwin Emefiele and the then Minister of petroleum for state, Ibe Kachukwu were referred as Igbos by the current Nigeria maximum ruler, Muhammadu Buhari.

One of the reasons Buhari decided to incarcerate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is to avoid mass movement of Biafra restoration, from my professional analysis, the detention escalated the movement instead of terming it. Buhari and his propaganda wings like Punch and Nation newspapers have everything to be afraid of at the moment, if not for the mass movement, at least for the international recognition and attention created by IPOB.

Nnamdi Kanu is set to appear in court on 26th September, 2016. According to Deutsche Welle news "with a court decision due in the case of Pro-Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu in late September, many Igbo people living in exile took to simultaneous protests across Europe to draw attention to their cause. One of those protests was held in Bonn, Germany, where roughly 100 protesters gathered, chanting slogan and handing out glossy flyers."

Fortunately, international communities and media professionals have beamed their satellite towards Abuja axis, exactly at Justice John Tsoho's court.

Justice John Tsoho still has a golden opportunity to toe the lines of Justice Ademola and deliver justice or hands-off Nnamdi Kanu's case like Justice Ahmed Mohammed of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, who withdrew from the trial of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu on 23rd December, 2015.

Just this morning 24th September, 2016 according to Vanguard newspaper, "A pro-democracy Non-Governmental Organization under the aegis of Human Rights Writers Association, HURIWA, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to end what it called "Persistent Political Persecution" of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of the Europe-based Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB".

The reported success of yesterday's "stay-at-home" order by IPOB, and its affiliates in the South East, was a "clear demonstration that it was now more than ever urgent that meaningful and constructive dialogue towards a peaceful resolution to the groundswell of agitations for self-determination are started" - said National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf.

Now that international community and distinguish personalities are alerted, Buhari and Justice John Tsoho should gather courage and do the honourable thing. According to Wole Soyinka, Biafra is an ideology.

To me, Biafra is also a spirit, no mortal being can silence thee.
