Kim West, 51, has been dating her biological son, Ben Ford, 32, for the past two years, and the pair are adamant their relationship is not incest.
The couple, who were separated for more than 30 years, even claim their sex life is "incredible" and are trying for a baby together.
In an interview with the New Day, Ms West said she gave birth to her son but was forced to give him up for adoption a week after he was born.
They parted ways and Mr Ford moved to the US where he married his wife, Victoria, two years before he and his mother were reunited.
After having no contact for three decades, Mr Ford sent a letter out the blue to his long-lost parent in 2013.
They began chatting on the phone before finally deciding to meet, with Ms West saying it was as if they had “known each other for years”.
But she soon began to realise she was growing attracted to her own flesh and blood, and started having “sexy dreams” involving him.
They agreed to meet at a hotel, where they ordered a bottle of champagne to the room, and soon shared their first kiss.
The interior designer and her son went on to have sex numerous times, and said the experience was “mind-blowing”.
Mr Ford added he felt relieved when he stopped having feelings for his wife, who was "disgusted" with the sordid affair.
Three days later he ditched his partner for his own mother.
Ms West said: "I know people will say we're disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you're hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it.”
England-born Ms West was initially confused about the attraction, but after researching it online came across Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA), which seemingly explained their feelings.

Mother and son flew to Michigan, where they spoke to another GSA couple and set about starting a new life.
She added: "This is not incest, it is GSA. We are like peas in a pod and meant to be together.
“It’s a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from."
