The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo is an apex Igbo socio-cultural group formed in 1976 to foster unity among People from the South-east of Nigeria in order to better allow them to be representatives within the political scenario of Nigeria. The socio-cultural group was planned as a clearinghouse in matters affecting the interest and general welfare of the people of Southeast States in Nigeria. The South East states in Nigeria are native lands of the Igbo people which include Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states.

Unfortunately, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and the South-east governors are only interested in the crumbs and vomit from the table of their Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy masters. Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the South-east governors have left a destructive trail of blood, betrayal and sabotage of wider Igbo interests, to the extent that nobody in Nigeria has regard for the honour and dignity of Ndi-Igbo.

Evidences have shown that Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo has recorded no tangible achievements since its formation in Igboland except betrayal. They only work for their pockets and for the well-being of their children and nothing more. Their track of activities has reminded me of the biblical saying in Mathew 5:13 which says “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men”.

The Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South East Governors have committed so many atrocities in Igboland which cannot be forgotten easily. The tagging of The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation by the Federal government of Nigeria was initiated by Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South East Governors. Unfortunately, they failed to call for the ban of the activities of the Fulani Herdsmen, which the international community has identified as the fourth most deadly terror group in the world.

The leadership of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo under Nnia Nwodo has totally failed to protect its citizenry as defined in their agenda. Recently, the IPOB Women were arrested, tortured and charged for treasonable felony on the 17th of August, 2018 by the Nigerian Police Force. Their crime was that the women took to the streets of Owerri, the Imo state capital, to protest the disappearance of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Nnia Nwodo failed to make public statement on the day our IPOB mothers were illegally abducted, shamefully detained and humiliated by the Nigerian Police Force. It was the leadership of IPOB that initiated and forced the Nigeria government to release these harmless women after 7days in cell.

nia Nwodo and Governor Dave of Ebony State personally invited the Fulani Caliphate to invade South East when they failed to convince Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to call off the boycott of Anambra governorship election in November 2017.
It is essential to state categorically that election is not the solution to the problem of the Biafra people. We have been electing people to political offices, but this has only brought untold sufferings and hunger to the people. Elections in Biafraland have only produced servants to the Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy and those who feed on crumbs from their table. It is IPOB determination to restore Biafra Republic where her people will have greater freedom and accommodation.

Elections in Nigeria are marred by rigging, political violence, killings and manipulation of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).  It is becoming clear why Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) clamoured for the boycott of elections in Biafraland, because the entire system is rigged. No trust on Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). While the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South East governors are demanding for Restructuring because of their egocentric attitudes, IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu wants total freedom for the Biafran people

From the ongoing discussions, the people of Biafra have discovered that Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and the Five South East governors do not consider the people’s needs before theirs. The entire people of Biafra need freedom while Nnia Nwodo and the five South East governors want Restructuring. This is where IPOB leadership has won the heart of the Biafrans. It is important to understand that what makes one a good and inclusive leader is the ability to consider the people’s needs first before his/her own want. The people of Biafra have accepted the method of leadership of Nnamdi Kanu but have totally rejected Ohaneze Ndi Igbo.

The Biafrans have demonstrated beyond the realm of human understanding that they appreciate and uphold the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In order to demonstrate their appreciation of IPOB leadership, they have continually obeyed any instructions given by the leadership of IPOB. The IPOB had insisted residents of Anambra State boycotted Saturday’s governorship election (18th November, 2017) and it was completely carried out. Their argument is that they cannot participate in an “ electoral process where Aso Rock, through INEC, simply compile their own figures and declare whoever they like as the winner”.

Furthermore, a summit conveyed by the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, in Enugu (February 2018) was disrupted by Pro-Biafra agitators, forcing the event to an abrupt end. The agitators got annoyed when issues of restructuring of Nigeria took the centre stage instead of their clamour for Biafra referendum.

The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared May 30th and September 14th every year as a Sit-at-Home call for the remembrance of Biafra heroes/heroines who lost their lives during these struggles. These calls have been strictly adhered to by the people of Biafra.

Recently, Nwodo and the South-east governors backed down as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) took over Igbo festivals in both England and South Africa. It is now obvious that the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South East governors have been found irrelevant and are no longer respected in Igboland. The more trusted IPOB leadership has now replaced the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South-east governors. It is, therefore, pertinent that the international community shun Ohaneze Ndi Igbo/Governors with regard to the welfare or legal pursuit of the Biafran populace as the activities of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo and the five South-east Governors have been proscribed in Biafraland. The UN should therefore take steps to listen directly to the masses involved whose representative is IPOB.
