Boycott PUNCH NEWSPAPER, It Is A Peddler Of Fake News
PUNCH, a well-known Nigerian news media founded by James Abdomerin and Sam Amaku in the 1970s, has now become the channel for peddling falsehoods, malicious lies and fake news, and therefore, should be boycotted by all well-meaning people and readers. The newspaper should be boycotted especially by all Biafrans in Biafra land, the wider Nigeria and the world.

Information at the disposal of IPOB Writers reveals that Gov Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, in collaboration with other detractors and enemies of the Biafran struggle, has paid The Punch newspaper to peddle fake news against Nnamdi Kanu and the Biafran struggle.  They have sold their soul for money. This is against the ethics of journalism.

Yesterday, Saturday 28th July 2017, the newspaper began the work for which it has been paid. It dished out fake news for the masses to consume with a title, "Youths oppose Kanu, disrupt rally".

It reported that some group of youths in the South-east warned Nnamdi Kanu against holding a rally in Imo state, stating that the group was in support of one-Nigeria. According to the fake news media, the Coordinator of the One Nigeria Group, Mr. Azunnaya Andrew, said, “One Nigeria Group stands for Nigeria’s oneness. We totally condemn the pro-Biafra rally in Owerri, conducted by one Nnamdi Kanu.”

The fake News continued that "the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Imo Council of Youths, Jeff  Nwoha; the Coordinator of the Nigeria Youths Unity Group, Emeka Igwe; and the national spokesperson for the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Samuel Godstime, said rather than go for Biafra, youths in the South-East wanted restructuring.

Also, the fake news went on to say that, Ohimili Arinze, who it said was speaking on behalf of ex-militants in the state, 'stated that they believed in the unity of Nigeria and would continue to support it, adding', “We don’t want to hear anything like Biafra in Imo State; we are fully in support of one Nigeria and we will not allow any self-serving group to come and disrupt the peace we are enjoying in this state.”

The news above as published by PUNCH was concocted by Chidiebube Okeoma and Gibson Achonu to fulfil their own part of their deal with Gov. Rochas.

The news was forged and the groups are faceless and there was no disruption of the IPOB rally. Instead millions of Biafrans, hearing that Nnamdi Kanu was visiting Owerri, trooped out en masse to welcome the IPOB leader thereby bringing the capital to a standstill.

Biafrans from Orlu, Mbano, Obowo, Mbaise, Ngor-Okpuala, Okigwe, Owerri and environs stormed the rally bearing Biafran flags, shirts, caps, shoes and banners. They were singing songs of freedom and at the sight of their leader Nnamdi Kanu, their shout shook the people in government house. In fact, in such event of yesterday, no idiot could have summoned the courage to disrupt the activity.

This fake news peddled by  PUNCH compromised the newspaper, amounts to huge wickedness that IPOB can not take for granted. And it shall not go unpunished.

Anyone who dares IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu or Biafra should be ready for the consequences.

Therefore, having peddled such falsehood against Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and Biafra, no Biafran should buy PUNCH newspapers, visit their web page, disrupt their fake news, follow them on Facebook, Twitter and all other social media platforms and make the world to understand that they are peddlers of fake news. Anyone who patronizes them is considered to be an enemy of Biafra.
