Biafran Children Protest Illegal Detention of Nnamdi Kanu
“Biafran kids held a rally at Igweocha, Rivers state, today for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. As shared by a Facebook user “Kids of The Lion Zone of the indigenous people of Biafra had a peaceful rally today in igweocha seeking the immediate and unconditional release of our leader mazi NNAMDI KANU.
The kids marched through the streets of Igwocha "Port Harcourt" carrying banners and placards displaying the leader of IPOB Nnamdi Kanu asking for his immediate release.
Kanu who has been detained since October 2015 has been denied freedom by the Nigerian security operatives under the command of the President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently MIA.
Kanu who is facing a treasonable felony charge and other three counts charge had pleaded not guilty to all charges levied against him, Kanu has previously been granted bail by two competent courts of jurisdiction but refused to be released by the DSS, Igbo leaders have recently risen demanding his immediate release.
IPOB has held numerous protests across the globe demanding his release; hundreds has allegedly been killed by the Nigerian armed forces who were peacefully protesting his release, last month Amnesty International released a detailed report accusing the Nigerian Military of killing over 150 Pro-Biafra supporters, a report which was quickly denied by the Nigerian army despite the pool of evidence implicating the Army.
Kanu is set to appear in court on Monday, March 19, 2017.
