Successful revolutions in most cases are carried out by unarmed people just like the Indigenous People of Biafra are doing under the command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu . IPOB has not used violent means to agitate for freedom, not even when confronted by the violent security operatives in Nigeria. It is disheartening and shameful that the Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari refuses to acknowledge this fact.
Nnamdi Kanu commands an unimaginable respect in Biafra land which is incredible to Nigerians. He has the power to turn Nigeria into a war zone with a single command; yet he remained calm, following the rules of engagement in agitating for self-determination enshrined in the United Nations resolution on Indigenous People despite when his people are massacred by the Nigerian soldiers.
Evidence abounds from the fact that Nnamdi Kanu’s influence in Biafra land and all over the world can bring down or tear Nigeria apart. . For instance, following his arrest, the people of Biafra domiciled in all parts of the world have successfully carried out several peaceful protests even in the Nigerian Capital Territory Abuja and Lagos. This shows that Mazi Nnamdi, though in Kuje prison, commands millions of Biafrans.
His single command "NO BUHARI IN BIAFRALAND” attracted thousands of Biafrans to protest on the streets of Enugu State on the 22nd of December 2016 amidst heavy security. This singular act ought to have reminded the Nigerian government and Buhari that Nnamdi Kanu is not a man to toy with. There is an adage that the gentleness of a leopard does not make it a coward in a fight.
However, Nigerian government should have understood by now that the name 'Nnamdi Kanu' does not mean war to Nigeria .
He is an advocate of peace and a key to the restoration of Biafra . A man that controls such power like Nnamdi Kanu having spent 436 days in Kuje prison supposed to have caused chaos and tension in Nigeria as a whole, but because violence is the least option, he chose to be peaceful hoping that sanity would return to the Nigerian Judiciary which has been compromised by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Finally , it has reached a vocal point, where the Nigerian government need to stop playing games and release Nnamdi Kanu as mandated by the court of competent Jurisdictions that gave an order for him to be released unconditionally. The masses are beginning to run out of patience as they can no longer stand this injustice melted on him occasioned by frequent manipulations of the judiciary by Muhammadu Buhari.
