The Nigerian Army on an Operation in Biafraland

In a bid to kill more Biafrans, violate human rights and silence the oppressed, the Nigerian Arm has begun a security operation code-named Exercise Python Dance, in the five South-East states. The operation was launched with a warning to IPOB group and individuals in Biafra land that they are the target.

The operation which followed the Amnesty International's report on the killing of hundreds of Biafrans by the Nigerian army is similar to that launched in the creeks of Niger Delta this year by Muhammadu Buhari and his military forces, targeted at children, the aged, mothers, fathers and the innocent youths of Niger Delta.

It is, however, pertinent to state that no such operations which is to bomb innocent villagers and fishermen of the Niger Delta region, kills innocent citizens of Biafra land and even seeks to kill more, has been launched anywhere near the chaotic northern region.

Visible signs of the operation are already in place in Anambra State, with its headquarters located at the Dora Akunyili.

Colonel Sagir Musa, Deputy Director of Army Public Relations of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, has said that secessionist, among others, would be the main focus of the exercise. Essentially, he said that any group that is not on the same page with the federal government in the zone would be disarmed.

He said that there would be an influx of soldiers and increased checkpoints in the zone, adding that troops would also be moving from one point to the other to carry out their aim.

He added that after the exercise, the Army would continue to maintain internal security in line with the existing joint security task forces in the states, insisting that the military would never hesitate to apply the rules of engagement in dealing with IPOB secessionists as appropriate.

In his words, Exercise Python Dance has been planned for the South-East Region; It will be multi-agency in nature: Nigerian Army and other security agencies are expected to synergize and collaborate extensively, and an elaborate civil-military cooperation line of operation has been planned during the exercise.
