BIAFRA: OPEN LETTER TO ECOWAS COURT OF JUSTICE

October 05, 2016.

Sir,
Congratulations To ECOWAS Court On Dasuki's Case: Nnamdi Kanu Next In The Line

I congratulate you judges and leaders in Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) Court of Justice on your courage and fairness in the discharge of your duty as you declared the arrest and detention of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, as unlawful and arbitrary.
It is a movement in the right direction.

You have restored hope for the poor and suppressed in Nigeria. You have proven that there are still honest, civilized and incorruptible judges in Africa who are out to protect the human rights of Africans from abuses.

Nigerian courts under Buhari can not discharge fair judgements even when it is obvious that the rights of the accused are trampled upon with contempt and disregard to courts' order and rule of law.

Even when such justice is discharged by Nigerian courts, the federal government of Nigeria under Buhari will not effect it; because since Buhari became the president of Nigeria, masses have lost hope of justice as courts and judges have lost effectiveness.

Recall that two competent courts of jurisdictions have discharged and ordered the release of Nnamdi Kanu respectively but Buhari refused to obey the courts' orders.

If it were in civilized countries of the world, no court in Nigeria is supposed to entertain any case from DSS until they obey different courts' orders they have disobeyed; but it is Nigeria where maximum power resides with the dictator-in-chief, Buhari, who  can do anything he likes including trampling on the judiciary and the rule of law.

Therefore I asked you, the civilized honourable judges in the hallowed chambers of ECOWAS Court of Justice, to follow the path of protection of human rights, which is what you have demonstrated in the case of ex-NSA of Nigeria, Col. Sambo Dasuki, and extend such to the case of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu who shall appear before you on the 5th of October, 2016.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Ogu Edozie Williams
