The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are the only people championing the quest for self-determination of the Biafra people, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu; a prisoner of conscience. IPOB is the only people who are strictly pursuing the self-determination of the Biafran nation, through a legitimately established process, as enshrined in the United Nations declaration on the “right of indigenous people” which the African union and Nigerian State is a signatory to.

IPOB is a member of Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS), which is recognized by the United Nations. The indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu are in over 90 countries of the world, numbering over 60 million people. Through several mass peaceful protests in Biafra land, Nigeria and all over the world where Biafran are, IPOB has proven to the world that they are ready to restore the nation of Biafra which existed long before Nigeria but was amalgamated with the Arewa north and the Oduduwa west, by the British in 1914.

Among other rights of Indigenous People outlined in the UN Charter;
Article 3. states that Indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

Article 1. Indigenous peoples have the right to the full enjoyment, as a collective or as individuals, of all human rights and fundamental freedoms as recognized in the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international human rights law

Under article 7 of the right of indigenous people
1. Indigenous individuals have the rights to life, physical and mental integrity, liberty and security of person.
2. Indigenous peoples have the collective right to live in freedom, peace, and security as distinct peoples and shall not be subjected to any act of genocide or any other act of violence, including forcibly removing children of the group to another group.

All these rights as it applies to Indigenous People of Biafra have been violated by Nigerian Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari. On the order of Buhari, Biafrans were massacred on several occasions, during their peaceful protest against the illegal detention of their leader and the restoration of Biafra.

On 30th May 2016 when Biafrans gathered to remember and honor their dead heroes, they were massacred in great numbers by the Nigerian army and police, which took the life of many and left others seriously injured with bullet wounds. As a matter of fact, Biafran youths are being secretly abducted and killed at random by the Nigerian state security service agents, police, and army. Evidence abounds.

Nigeria government led by Muhammadu Buhari is not satisfied with the continuous killing of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), they are now buying over some notorious groups such as Ohaneze Ndigbo, Billie Human Wright Initiative, MEND, to work against IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu.

Their most current strategy is the creation fake IPOB groups, intimidating and bribing media houses such as “Vanguard news peppers” “Sun news peppers” and other news outlets Nigeria, to publish fake news against IPOB and Biafra restoration. These fake and faceless groups like TRIPOB and REIPOB are laying baseless claims and false accusation against Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, thereby deceiving the general public and the international community and media houses.

We are urging you to disregard any news published by any media house in Nigeria or at the

international level, painting an ugly picture of our leader Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. Weknow that enemies of truth abound, but do not fall to their evil devices.

Recently Muhammadu Buhari, stood on the floor of the United Nations and moved for the recognition of the state of Palestine as a sovereign nation and also received delegates from the people of Western Sahara, the Saharawi Arab republic in his office in Abuja and assured them that Nigeria will support the Saharawi Arab republic self-determination bid, but hell-bent on destroying anybody that mentions the word “Biafra”.

We hereby appeal to you to be concerned that indigenous peoples of Biafra IPOB have suffered from historic injustices as a result of, inter alia, their colonization, and dispossession of their lands, territories, and resources, thus preventing them from exercising, in particular, their right to development in accordance with their own needs and interests.

Recognizing the urgent need to respect and promote the inherent rights of indigenous peoples of Biafra IPOB which is derived from their political, economic and social structures and from their cultures, spiritual traditions, histories and philosophies, especially their rights to their lands, territories, and resources we urge you to speak up for the course of the indigenous people of Biafra.

Be convinced that control by indigenous peoples over developments affecting them and their lands, territories and resources will enable them to maintain and strengthen their institutions, cultures, and traditions, and to promote their development in accordance with their aspirations and needs.
Recognize in particular the right of indigenous families and communities in Biafra to retain shared responsibility for the upbringing, training, education and well-being of their children, consistent with the rights of the child. Recognize that indigenous individual in Biafra are entitled without discrimination to all human rights recognized in international law and that indigenous peoples possess collective rights which are indispensable for their existence, well-being and integral development as a people.

Add your voice in favor of this legitimate and noble quest for the restoration of Biafra, and call for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, a prisoner of conscience, who has been in detention in Nigerian prison since October 2015, on the orders of the president of Nigeria, dictator Muhammadu Buhari against the order of the court to release him unconditionally.

The truth remains that there is only one indivisible Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu. IPOB is not a group but a nation of great children of God. We are fanatical about the nation of Biafra and will continue to work hard for its restoration. No amount of propaganda, intimidation, arrest and killing can stop us until Biafra is restored.
