Biafra - Birth of a Nation

Initiating conversation with a brainwashed South-Southerner will show you the extent to which the Hausa and Fulani people have succeeded in indoctrinating some of us with their "cow beliefs".
The fact is, Gowon led a war in 1967 against us (Biafra) not to heal wounds, but to exterminate us from this planet earth (imagine a self-acclaimed peacemaker bombing sick children's abode). After that genocide, they thought of ways to further weaken us so that we will be muted forever, but that was where their intelligence failed.

They said we are South South and South East. But come to think of it, that's the same way we have Ibibio and Anang ; that doesn't make us different. "They brought this division to weaken us, make us hate each other, They went further to incite the Igbos against us and also incite us against the Igbos".
You must cogitate on the following words of Frederick Lord Lugard after he forcefully amalgamated the Northern and Southern protectorate in 1914;

"The North and Southern Nigeria is like oil and water". he said

I've not gotten a PhD yet, I'm way near, but it takes only a split second to understand Frederick's assertion.
The Igbos as far as I know suffered the effects of the war more than we did. Even after the war, they were denied certain privileges in the formal settings; academics, career and so on. Being an industrious and gallant nation, the Igbos went into various enterprises and sustained Igbo Land thereby putting Gowon and his cohorts to shame. '

Looking at the ordeals of the Igbos and the stigmatization they're dealing with in excruciating pains, it makes no meaning to join positive with negative especially now that the circuit is closed.

You say "Igbos are proud"
Ans: Why wouldn't they be, when Gowon wanted to wipe them off planet earth but they still survived?
Show me an Anang man who doesn't brag about his achievements no matter how small it is, and I will show you an Anang man who doesn't exist.

You say "Igbos are always bossy"
Ans: Show me a rich Ibibio man who wouldn't want you to worship him before you taste his 1kobo, and I will show you an Ibibio man who doesn't exist

You say "Igbos like favouring themselves the more"
Ans: Show me an Oron man who doesn't switch to Oron language in an interview hall when he notices the presence of another Oron man just to favour him, then I'll show you an Oron man who doesn't exist

You say "Igbos are wicked and must be hated"
Ans: Show me any human being you have a negative perception about that has ever been good, and I will show you a brain that not functioning

We (Ibibio, Igbo, Anang, Ijaw, Urhobo, Oron etc) have a lot in common ranging from cultural heritage to even our spoken languages.
Efere: Ibibio - Soup, Igbo - Plate.
I lack knowledge of any other unity which could be greater than this.
Biafra is your home because you once watched her grow into a "Canaan Land". May 30th, 1967 to January 15th, 1970, you, your parents, or grandparents enjoyed the rhymes of her National Anthem; You saw it grow technologically and otherwise. You wished the war never started; you wished we had sane world leaders who could see the truth and stand by same.

Yakubu Gowon and his boys set out on a journey; a journey of subjugation, oppression, and bloodshed a week after the independence of Biafra from Nigeria. Commander of the then Eastern region, Odumegwu Ojukwu did his best to defend his territory in a war he termed "impromptu", Bloodshed was the order of the day Children
were killed, mothers murdered and abused, fathers died in the wilderness all in the cause of defending their territory, As if it wasn't enough, Gowon and his men being unable to break the military barrier at Ikot Ekpene, turned back and massacred innocent civilians comprising women and children in a market in the east central region.

Wars exist as much as Battle Fields do. I understand that it was painful for Nigeria to let Biafra go; what I don't understand is the role the
massacred WOMEN and CHILDREN played in the disintegration of Nigeria.

It was like a dream, People thought that they only wanted to subjugate the eastern region, not knowing that the shadow beneath the tortoise's flippers bred murderous tendencies, unimaginable hatred, and
territorial subjugation against Biafrans.

"Biafra is an ideology"

The people can be killed, houses burnt, crops destroyed, Cargo Planes that would have brought them aid relief materials shot down, but the ideology can never be killed.

Kudos to Major General Philip Effiong who saw the need to surrender and end the use of firearms on innocent civilians in 1970, 46 years later, the world thought that the ideology is not just old, but dead unluckily for them, it's younger than ever. This has been made manifest
through peaceful protests in more than 70 countries across the world by IPOB led by Nnamdi Kanu.

Just of recent is the record-breaking One Million Man March organised by IPOB in the South-South and South East region of Nigeria.
Mr. Buhari's mistake "The worst mistake of an old man would be to run after his grandchild with the aid of a walking stick"

2016 is not 1967 and If Biafrans should resort to the use of firearms, Buhari will be helpless, Why on earth would Buhari's armed forces be using firearms on unarmed protesters but run away from the Avengers?
People are aggrieved, they need their nation back. Instead, you choose to
arrest their leader and mock the judiciary by failing to release him after several courts of competent jurisdiction found him innocent of the cooked up charges you levelled on him, flaunting court orders with utmost impunity!

Mr. President: My advice - It's suicidal to arrest a leader who is representing not himself, but over 30 million Biafrans both at home and in diaspora. Our freedom of speech, association, and self-determination must be upheld as enshrined in the UN Charter of the Indigenous People.
Release Nnamdi Kanu because war is but a fate I can never wish my acclaimed enemies. You're not just married, but with kids; not just fulfilled, but with great investments for your progeny; not just
grown up, but old: allow others to live and control their destiny.

Long live Nnamdi Kanu!
Long live IPOB!
Long live the Republic of Biafra!

  1. Courageous piece by Iboro. I pray all Biafrans (Ibibio, Igbo, Anang, Ijaw, Urhobo, Oron and others) to wake-up from their ignorance and slumber to liberate themselves from Islamic Jihadist Nigeria. This is our time and we cannot miss this opportunity. Nigeria amalgamation, which is an abominable experiment expired on January 1, 2014. Now is the time for AREWA, ODUDUWA and BIAFRA to go their separate ways.
