Asari-dokubo

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the director, radio Biafra yesterday joined others to commiserate with the leader of Niger Delta peoples volunteer force, chief Asari Dokubo over the death of his wife who lost his first wife on a motor accident on her way to Ibadan.

A condolence message signed by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful, made available to newsmen in Awka, yesterday, said, “The IPOB console Asari Dokubo, the family members and the people of his community for the irreparable loss and praying to the almighty God (Chukwu Okike Abiama) to keep and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss because death is a necessary end that comes when it will come. Also there are many chapters in a book, the bad side in the book is not the end of the book.

“Therefore, we urge Asari Dokubo to keep your eyes on the stars of the sky and your feet on the ground because most people give up just when they are about to achieve success, they give up at the last moment of the game, one foot from a winning touch”. The statement added, “Again, the winners are the ones who really listen to the truth of their hearts. The golden opportunity we all are waiting to see is in our hands Biafra not in the lips again but by a series of small things brought together we begin to dwell in the land of the new nation Biafra.
Meanwhile IPOB has frowned at the activities of some people who allegedly have been parading themselves as Customary Government of Biafra, warning that such institution does not exist. In a statement made available to the Guardian yesterday, in Awka, icity Officer, Emma Powerful who is the media and publicity secretary urged the International community and Biafrans in particular to disregard such claims by people he described as usurpers. Powerful lamented the situation where Dr. Dozie Ikedife and those he called his APC cohorts are parading themselves as Customary Government of Biafra, regretting that their sovereignty which was robbed them by Nigeria and Britain, has not been restored.
He noted, “Worse still, they are ordering genuine Biafra freedom fighters to come under their illegal and unrecognized Customary Government. These usurpers have never come out for demonstration or supported the release of our leader. “They are busy conniving with Rochas Okorocha and some Igbo politicians who over the decades have sold their conscience to the devil called Nigeria.

These men have been busy using our name to advance their APC agenda in the Igbo-speaking parts of Biafra land. “When we came out all over the world to demonstrate and to remember our fallen heroes, where were these political harlots claiming to be Customary Government or part of IPOB?” He said the IPOB are simply freedom fighters and the leader of IPOB is Nnamdi Kanu who was given the mantle of leadership of IPOB on May 2014 at Enugu, adding that the ceremony bestowing leadership on Nnamdi Kanu was documented. He further said that IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu is registered and recognized at the United Nations’ ECOSOC as “Indigenous People of Biafra” without any second or third-party representation.
