Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu, A Strong Force That Have Brought Nigeria To Her Knees

IPOB Supreme Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

Before now it was only Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that stood firmly in fighting for the redemption of Biafran people. IPOB was a lone voice shouting to the four corners of the universe in a crescendo rudiments, saying “let my people go”.

IPOB has held many peaceful protests in Biafran land and other different countries of the world. Her protests have been carried out in a professional manner which broke the Guinness book of record as the most peaceful movement ever in the history of mankind.

They said for there to be a change, somebody must rise to effect the change. IPOB has woken up other forces that are now tilting and excavating the shallow Nigerian foundation.

On June 11th, 2017 a Pan Yoruba group, O’odua Nationalist Coalition, (ONAC) called on Yoruba people to prepare for their own sovereign nation, this call was made, following the lingering agitation for the breakup of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. According to the group, the new country will be called “Oodua” Republic.

As the fire continues burning, the Midwest movement has set up a plan to declare their own Republic.
A pan-Edo/Delta group on the platform of Midwest Movement, on Wednesday 19th August, 2017 threatened to declare the Bendel Republic from the country if Nigeria fails to play its constitutional role and re-federalise the country. The group gave the Nigerian government a strong warning to assume its responsibilities.

Also, the contributions of the confused Arewa youths in dismantling Nigerian structure can't be neglected or overemphasized. Though they seem to be championing one Nigerian agenda but are indirectly pushing for their freedom. The pressure they mount on federal government is a win win for the Biafran people. Arewa youths want to be free from Nigeria’s shackles, it is only their elites who are pushing for ‘One Nigeria’.

Northern youths have demonstrated their readiness to champion Arewa Republic, in contrast, the likes of T.Y. Danjuma, Abdulsalami Abubarka, Aliko Dangote, General Gowon, Bamanga Tukur, A. A. Rano, Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Dantata, Atiku Abubarka, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and other oil fields owners will never support their youths’ quest for freedom.

The youths out of frustration have given Igbos living in the northern part of Nigeria to pack-and-go on or before October 1st, 2017. Their elites have also kicked against such move because it will prevent them from taking hold of Biafran oil. In other words, Arewa youths don't believe in the Nigerian project anymore.

The above four notable forces will bury the Nigerian state sooner than later. There is no way a house divided along ethnic, religious and tribal lines will stand. These forces will excavate and uproot Nigeria from its faulty foundation. This is a potential force that is more potent than the applied force. Nigeria can never survive the systematic processes involved in this exercise.

In these different agitations facing the Nigerian government, one may ask: what has the presidency put in place to calm the nerves of the Indigenous People?

The truth of the matter is, Nigerian government has totally lost it. They seemed helpless and hopeless. Acting President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osibanjo is clueless. He is a disgrace to professorship. I now believe one Igbo saying that says “passing six is not passing sense”. I never knew we could have such educated illiterate in professorship.

How can it (Nigerian government) kept mute in these issues burning east, west, north and south?

In modern politics, when a state witnesses a continuous agitation, the parent body will organise a peaceful referendum to allow the people to decide where they want to belong.

Nigeria won't be the first nor the last to witness agitations, many countries have done a peaceful plebiscite that saw the birth of new nations without firing any bullet.

Eritrea was born out of peaceful referendum. Britain conducted Scottish referendum in 2013 and is planning to hold another one in 2018/19.

What will it cost the Nigerian state to avert the impeding blood shed and do something like a civilised country?

The worst thing that can happen to a Man is to accept ugly name given to him by another person. IPOB has called Nigeria a Zoological Republic but instead of Nigeria to go on and prove IPOB wrong, it has gone ahead to accept the name and behave as such.

Must the Nigerian government do things upside down? The senate is busy shouting “those in support of the motion say hi” without looking deep into the falling building they are living in. Will they wake up the day every agitator picks up arms?

Now that the indigenous people jam-packed in Nigerian contraption are still speaking in peaceful manner, won't it be a golden opportunity for the government to call for referendum? At least starting with Biafra referendum will douse the tension already culminating the entire africa.

Nigerian government should know that these four forces can destabilise Africa; in an outbreak of war, african countries will have refugees crisis. Refugees will invade neighbouring countries without official permission to enter the country.

There's no magic of any kind that will make Nigeria to work, she has unofficially lived for 46 years and officially lived for 57 years, making it a total of 103 unfruitful years. 103 years of backwardness.

How many unfruitful years will Nigeria live before the Nigerian government does the needful? Are they still waiting for the approval of their colonial Master before factoring a solution? Or are they gonna wait for USA before acknowledging the yearning of freedom being felt in the atmosphere?

Finally, IPOB and other agitators should maintain the tempo, it is only consistency that can win this freedom fight, continue excavating the Nigerian shallow foundation with your greatest potential energy and soonest, the building will fall on top of Nigerian senate and presidency. There will never be a hiding place for them all.
