US Activist Mary Bernstein

Human rights activist, Mary Helen Bernstein, is a citizen of the United States of America, who has shown deep interest in the inhuman treatments being metted out on Biafrans in Nigeria. She has a huge fan base among Biafrans in various social media platforms, mostly on her Facebook page where she recently adopted Biafran names-(Mary Ada Biafra Obiageli) as her account name, in solidarity with Biafrans.

In a recent development, Mrs. Bernstein has written an emotional letter to notable International Organisations and personalities such as United Nations World Food Programme(WFP), and its Executive Director, Ertharin Cousin, over the heart-rending predicament of Biafrans in Nigeria.

The letter which the California-based activist made available to Family Writers, highlighted that just like during the 1960s genocide perpetrated against Biafrans in which about 6million Biafrans were either massacred or starved to death, history is repeating itself, as Biafrans have incessantly been subjected to extrajudicial killings, economic blockade and continuous marginalisation by the Nigerian government, with little or no attention being paid by world media outlets and aid agencies unlike what is obtainable in the Northern part of the country where Boko Haram insurgents are on rampage.
A full version of the letter reads:

"TO UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME ADVISING OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL REPORT

TO  Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director
@WFP
Email: Ertharin.Cousin@WFP.org

I am not asking you to starve the North East region as they did during blockade during the 1967-1970 Biafra-Nigeria War.  I would never seek or condone any mistreatment of children, innocent babies whether during a war or peace.  Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

You asked for media coverage and evidence as you claimed that there was not much exposure to the situation.  Media coverage although minimal and sporadic should not be held against a people that have no control over which news stories are broadcast and which are not selected.  Earlier in the year, I provided you with news stories depicting massacres by Fulani Herdsmen.  Recently, Amnesty International has prepared a scathing report which reflects the persecution that these people have been encountering in the Southern Nigeria region for over a year.

During the 20th Century Biafra-Nigeria War the strategy was a physical presence to prevent aid, resources to Biafra.  The technological frontier is the new blockade suppression of the starvation and persecution occurring to these people during this second genocide.

So where is all this aid going to the North East Region for the past several years yet no infrastructure and millions of starving people as well?  The Naira to the Dollar disparity it should be the opposite.  The Dollars should be stretching more and improving vastly.  Could it be the dollars intended for food are going for bribes to other governments from Nigeria to ignore the plight of the Biafrans?

Could it be that these donations, a charity fraud are being used to finance counter tactics on Facebook to suppress and block the postings of those crying out as we have witnessed twice this year of enormous Radio Biafra London all Black Members Facebook Group Disappearance? The creation of a second Radio Biafra London Group (RBL) which also disappeared for a time reflecting deliberate measures as opposed to technical glitches.  And this is in addition to the immeasurable pocket lining by Nigerian politicians.  Is this what Allah wants if you believe in him?  Is this what Jehovah wants if you believe in him?  Corruption, wickedness at the highest levels.  The UK and US have pointed out money laundering concerning Nigeria through US-UK channels.

This reeks of charity fraud.  How can roughly 400 million dollars donated in two years not even make a dent in this rebuilding, feeding the hungry projects?  Additional grants appear to be monthly allocating even more.  In Yola, Nigeria which seems to be the nucleus wherein all these IDPs are allegedly located in Nigeria.  This also appears to be the epicentre where funding is directed to containing a wealthy boarding school of preschool through university students and little else.
This is infuriating as our own American Children go hungry a vast majority of the time when not in school.

Have you seen the video statement when Buhari was elected that he was deliberately going to marginalize those that did not vote for him?  Have you not seen that ALL of Nigeria is in a recession or do you believe that this also is isolated to the North East?

African Development Bank (AfDB) has donated $150 million as intervention funds to support Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states on reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of areas ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency.  https://www.today.ng/news/nigeria/162472/afdb-donates-150m-north-east-rehabilitation

There are other parts of the World besides North East Nigeria that are hungry such as the citizens in Venezuela that are moving for referendum.  These citizens so hungry they broke into a zoo and killed a horse for meat exhibiting their desperation.
Now no one is claiming that only north, south, east or west Venezuela is suffering starving chasing down their President.  Why then is there only a focal point of North East Nigeria while the rest of the Country that is encountering the very same recession is denied relief?

In particular, you have been shown that by the President of Nigeria own admission that he planned to discriminate against them EVEN FURTHER AND MORE SO THAN PREVIOUSLY.  Because they did not vote for someone whom refused to provide representation to and was part of the genocidal team which nearly eradicated all the Biafran people during Biafra-Nigerian War.  This same President that refuses in an alleged democracy spewing over with extra-judicial killings, preordained decisions and sentencing by corrupt judges, no social services to date despite all the funding by the United States for government, health services for the past 8-10 years."
